Comments: Thanks to PcC and the "Help Our Hungry Heroes" Food Driveyou sent us a $200.00 gift card and it has helped us greatly this month. My husband, a Army reservist, returned from a 12 month deployment to Iraq in August of 2008 to learn his civilian employer closed his business while he was deployed leaving my husband unemployed in one of the worst economic situations - he was unemployed for a year before finding a job, leaving us a family of 4 living on my receptionist income and his reservist pay. This past year 1/2 has been rough to say the least we fell so far behind on everything that we almost lost our home and are still trying to dig out of our financial hole. He is deploying again in a few months and we are beleive it or not looking forward to it just to have the financial security again to pay the bills and put food on the table. Its people like PcC and you coming together who really can make a difference - thank you so much words can not express our gratitude!

Comments: Pennies Can Change helped our family and we cannot begin to thank everyone so much for all the donations. And for all the supportive people who give so much to the military. We appreciate it and just can't wait until we are able to start giving back. :D :)

Comments: Great idea--many Synogogues and Churches already have penny collection fund drives and it adds up to a very important contribution, so kudos on adapting the idea!! I might gently suggest however a new mascot--Captain Santa is very singular. If you are presenting yourselves as a multi-denominational ( or even NON-denominational) general charity ( and Im assuming your 501 non profit paperwork specifies NON religious)then you might want to consider respecting other faiths!! Santa is a Christian symbol.Nice and jolly for sure but Christian nonetheless. Its a bit of an oxymoron to portray yourselves as helping everyone in need and to have as your mascot a Christian symbol.
If Im mistaken and you are indeed a Christian charity then I hope you mentioned that in your 501 paperwork and also should mention it on your website so donors know!
Other than that, I wish you as much success as all of the other penny drives have had through the years!! Faith
